Southeast Asia art cultureThere is a specific artist and theme that we are collaboration in the creation of the digital filter. His name is Deng Chua Thean. He is the first artist in Malaya who transformed batik dyeing technique into a medium of fine art. His painting often presented a romanticised view of Malaysian life and communicating the joy in life. The painting series that we are focusing on is called” I am a child”, It is all about embracing motherhood. He has captured the peacefulness and beauty of mother and child in natural setting.

Abract
Social media, digital filters and selfies are only being widely used amongst our young generations. We always take photos with friends and share it, but we hardly do that with our parents. Therefore I think this can be a good opportunity for us to share it with them. To capture the beauty and elegance of our mum through this Teng’s batik painting style filter. To create our own unique artwork for “ I am a child” series.
