According research studies done on Kidswear trend forecaster. The​​ digital space will be the key destination in ss2021-2022, and ranges will be designed to reflect this sci-fi theme.

2000s is the start and the spread of technology, such as telephone, computer and DVD etc. A new generation growing with all the digital staff and technology. They are free and restless just like every generation. With new technology involvement, teens are more exploring and adventurous.

As 2022 is a nostalgia year for the throwbacks. I have decided this sci-fi as my theme, as I wish the younger generations to not forget this beginning of digital era we are living nowadays. Always be free and be inspired in their own destination.

Taken inspirations from the sci-fi cartoons from 2000s, such as Care Bears, power puff girl etc. I have created my own cartoon character -- Sci-fi bear, a bear with hologram furs and laser goggles. It has it's own spaceship and rocket. He's joyful and restless. Always exploring.
Television, radio, skateboards are the key elements that are from the 2000s as well. People were enjoying those technology devices and living a joyful slow paced life.

The inspirational of this collection comes from laser DISC, disco and slight vapour-wave of 2000s. As 2022 have a throwback the, when people start to miss vintage and retrospective styles and the trend of 2000s is coming back as we can see. There are more vibrant colors, layered they inspired by the new technology involvement of their daily lives. Especially the contrasting color palette and the simple patterns had demonstrated how the people from 2000s thought of futuristic looks.
The design concept is more towards 2000s retrospective and sci-fi styles. Simple and comfortable loose fit silhouette which allows free movement, and pastel colour palette to give a more girly and genuine young teen look. The ribbing finishing also offers a little astronaut style, as most of the kids will dream about going "Outta space". The main motif is inspired by 2000s ideas of space and sci-fi. They are all very cartoon-like as this is a reminiscence and retro piece of 2000s, so the pastel, cute and girly motifs are the key.
The motif and the small patterns are heat-transferred onto the garment.
While the grid lines are silkscreened onto the fabric.
The fabric I used are rib knit trimmings and cotton double knit fabric. It is very cozy, soft, and comfortable. It is able to keep the body warm.

Every set of design consists 2 tops, 2 bottoms and an overall and an outerwear/loungewear.

This ratio is based on market research I've done on the current quantity and market of kids sleepwear. Cross referenced to brands such as: H&M kids, Cotton on kids, Guesskids and Gap kids etc.
